Do I have to have Kombucha tea to make a new batch?

You can brew Kombucha Tea with the Starter Liquid alone, without the Culture. In fact the mother liquid is more important than the actual Culture. This is why I post only a small piece of Culture - so that I can fit as much of the mother liquid as possible into the package for shipping.
